Why Format Is the #1 Reason POAs Are Rejected

Each government authority in Dubai accepts only one specific POA format. Submit the wrong format and your document is rejected on the spot — regardless of how carefully the content was drafted. Most typing centres and even some lawyers use generic templates that fail this test.

Dubai Courts Format — For:

  • Dubai Land Department (DLD) — property transactions
  • Real Estate Regulatory Authority (RERA)
  • Roads & Transport Authority (RTA) — vehicles
  • Dubai Courts and Rental Disputes Centre (RDC)

Federal Format — For:

  • MOHRE — Ministry of Human Resources & Emiratisation
  • International use after MOFA attestation
  • Federal ministries across all seven Emirates
  • Foreign nationals without UAE Emirates ID

All 9 Types of Power of Attorney We Draft in Dubai

  • General POA — broad authority for all legal, financial & administrative matters (valid 2 years)
  • Special / Limited POA — restricted to one transaction (auto-expires when task is complete)
  • Real Estate POA — buy, sell, mortgage, manage, or gift property at DLD
  • Banking POA — accepted by Emirates NBD, ADCB, FAB, Mashreq, RAKBANK and all UAE banks
  • Court POA — represent you before Dubai Courts, RDC, and all arbitration bodies
  • Vehicle POA — transfer, register, or export clearance at Roads & Transport Authority (RTA)
  • Child Travel Consent POA — allow your child to travel internationally with one parent
  • MOHRE POA — represent you in employment and labour matters at the Ministry
  • Company POA — incorporate, manage, or dissolve a company on your behalf

Step-by-Step: How to Get a POA in Dubai (Same Day)

1

Contact E-Notary Dubai — tell us the purpose

Tell us which authority will use the POA (DLD, bank, MOHRE, etc.) and what the agent is authorized to do. We identify the correct format — Dubai Courts or Federal — before drafting a single word.

2

We draft the document — ready in 1–2 hours

We prepare the POA in the exact bilingual format required by your target authority, with all legally required clauses. You receive a preview to review before any appointment is booked.

3

The principal meets the Notary — 5 to 15 minutes

You (the principal) attend a short video call with the Notary — no physical visit needed. You bring your valid passport or Emirates ID. The agent does not need to attend at any point. The Notary verifies your identity, reads the document aloud, and you confirm understanding and consent before signing. E-Notary Dubai prepares, drafts, and coordinates the entire appointment on your behalf.

4

You receive the notarized original

The POA is ready to use at the target authority immediately. For international use, we handle MOFA attestation and embassy attestation as follow-on steps — same provider, no need to coordinate multiple parties.

Critical: UAE Minimum Age for Agents

Under UAE Federal Law, the agent (person receiving the POA authority) must be at least 21 years old. A POA naming an agent under 21 will be notarized as void and rejected by all authorities. Always verify the agent's age before proceeding.

Federal Decree-Law No. 20 of 2022

All POAs in the UAE are governed by Federal Decree-Law No. 20 of 2022 on notarization. This law mandates: (a) mandatory notarization by a licensed Notary Public, (b) bilingual format for Dubai Courts-bound documents, (c) personal appearance of the principal or authorized video-notarization procedure, and (d) specific wording for each POA type.

Most General POAs are notarized same-day when submitted before 2 PM. The document is prepared in 1–2 hours, you review the draft, then we coordinate the notary appointment. Standard turnaround is 1–2 business days.

Yes. A properly drafted General POA is accepted by all UAE government entities — DLD, MOHRE, RTA, Dubai Courts — and most banks. However, some banks prefer their own POA format. We check with your specific bank before drafting to ensure acceptance.

Yes. A UAE General POA must name the agent (Wakeel) with their full name, nationality, passport number, and Emirates ID. Without this, the POA is legally invalid. We collect all required details before drafting.
