Frequently Asked Questions
Everything about POA, attestation, eviction notices and notarization in Dubai.
General Questions
A Power of Attorney (POA) is a document granting someone legal authority to act on your behalf. A notarized document is any document that has been officially witnessed and stamped by a licensed UAE Notary Public (Dubai Courts or Federal Ministry of Justice). A POA must be notarized to be legally valid in the UAE.

Most documents are notarized same-day when you contact E-Notary Dubai before 2 PM. The standard turnaround is 1–2 business days. MOFA attestation takes 3–5 business days. Express services are available for urgent cases.
Yes. E-Notary Dubai offers fully remote e-notarization via secure video call, officially approved by Dubai Courts. For documents that require physical signing, we guide you through the video call with the Notary Public — fully online, no travel required. The UAE Embassy process if you are abroad.
MOFA attestation is a stamp from the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs that makes a document valid for use in a foreign country. You need MOFA attestation if you are submitting a UAE document to an authority, employer, or institution outside the UAE.
The most common reason is wrong format — not wrong content. Each UAE authority (DLD, Dubai Courts, MOFA, RTA) accepts only one specific POA format. Submit the wrong format and the document is rejected on the spot, regardless of how carefully it was drafted.

Most General POAs are notarized same-day when submitted before 2 PM. The document is prepared in 1–2 hours, you review the draft, then we coordinate the notary appointment. Standard turnaround is 1–2 business days.
Yes. A properly drafted General POA is accepted by all UAE government entities — DLD, MOHRE, RTA, Dubai Courts — and most banks. However, some banks prefer their own POA format. We check with your specific bank before drafting to ensure acceptance.
Yes. A UAE General POA must name the agent (Wakeel) with their full name, nationality, passport number, and Emirates ID. Without this, the POA is legally invalid. We collect all required details before drafting.
MOFA Attestation & Apostille
MOFA fees are fixed government fees. Secure pickup, official submission, and priority delivery are managed entirely by E-Notary Dubai and confirmed in your custom quote.
Standard MOFA attestation takes 3–5 business days. Express service is available for 1–2 business day processing at an additional fee. Certain document types may be eligible for same-day processing.
It depends on the destination country. Apostille is for countries that are members of the Hague Convention (118+ countries including UK, USA, EU, Australia, India since 2023). MOFA attestation followed by embassy attestation is for countries NOT in the Hague Convention (Saudi Arabia, Qatar, UAE neighboring Arab countries, most of Asia and Africa). The easiest way: ask the receiving authority which they specifically require.
Yes. E-Notary Dubai handles the full MOFA attestation process on your behalf — we collect your documents (or you send via courier), prepare the submission package, submit to MOFA, track the status, and deliver the attested document back to you digitally or by courier. Free pickup is available for clients in the Dubai Business Bay area.
Eviction Notices
A valid 12-month eviction notice in Dubai must: (1) be in the correct bilingual Arabic/English format, (2) state the legal reason for eviction under Law No. 33 of 2008, (3) be served through a licensed Tableegh officer or registered Emirates Post mail, and (4) give the tenant exactly 12 months from the date of confirmed delivery.
The cost depends on the delivery method and urgency. Notary Public delivery (Tableegh) costs more than registered mail. Confirm the exact fee upfront — all costs are confirmed before any payment.
Yes. E-Notary Dubai handles the full process remotely. You provide the tenant details and we prepare the notice, coordinate Notary Public service, and send you the official Proof of Delivery certificate.
Legal Notices
For many civil claims in Dubai, issuing a formal legal notice is a legal prerequisite before initiating court proceedings under UAE civil law. It demonstrates that you attempted resolution before escalating to litigation.
A legal notice in Dubai must be delivered through one of two recognised channels: (1) UAE Notary Public — a licensed notary physically visits the recipient's address and creates a certified delivery record, or (2) Registered mail via Emirates Post with acknowledgment of receipt. WhatsApp, email, and SMS have no legal standing.
An eviction notice is a specific type of legal notice governed by Law No. 33 of 2008 with strict 12-month notice requirements. A general legal notice covers a broader range of civil claims including debt recovery, contract breach, and POA cancellation.
Yes. E-Notary Dubai handles the full process remotely — you submit your details online, we draft the notice in the correct legal form, you review and approve the draft, we notarize it, and coordinate delivery via licensed Tableegh service anywhere in Dubai.
POA from Outside UAE
Yes. You can grant a UAE POA from abroad through two routes: (1) Remote e-notarization via video call — approved by Dubai Courts for UAE passport or Emirates ID holders, or (2) Notarize the POA at the UAE Embassy or a local notary in your country, then have it apostilled/attested for use in the UAE.
Yes. A POA notarized abroad must go through: (1) Apostille (for countries in the Hague Convention), or (2) Embassy attestation followed by UAE MOFA attestation (for non-Hague countries). We can advise on the exact requirements for your country.
Yes. We prepare the POA draft in the correct UAE format, guide you through signing requirements in your country, coordinate apostille or attestation, and register the POA in Dubai when it arrives. The entire process can be managed remotely.
